Best Ways to Motivate Yourself When You’re on the Verge of Quitting
Whether you are working for a company or you are running your own business, there will come a time when you feel like giving up. Your business might not be doing as well as you would have hoped it to be. Your boss might have also given you a hard time and you don’t want to work with the said person anymore.
Before you finally decide to just quit, you have to take a pause and find ways to motivate yourself. You could still turn things around. You just have to do the right thing.
Look at things from another perspective
For instance, your boss annoys you a lot or is giving you a hard time. Instead of saying that you are punished by your boss, you can evaluate yourself and find out if the problem is in you. Sometimes, we only see things based on our own perspective without considering the other possible sides of a story. Once you realize that you may also be at fault, you could understand things clearly.
Determine your alternatives
If you really feel like giving up, you need to look at what you could fall back on. Be realistic in identifying exactly what it is that you could get. Is there another job waiting? Will you be fine starting a new business over again focusing on different things? Once you realize that you really don’t have much of a choice, you will see just how important your current endeavor is. You will do everything possible to stick to it and do better.
Do things differently
One of the reasons why people feel like they don’t want to continue anymore is that they keep doing the same things over and over again. This is a sure way to stop you from improvement. You have to try changing a bit. Find ways to achieve the same results using a different process. For instance, if you keep on typing in your computer, why don’t you take a walk outside and be inspired by what you see? Instead of spending your time alone on your desk, why don’t you reach out to other people at work and see what else you have in common?
Let go of your pride
You feel irritated of your boss. You hate that your business is not as good as it should be. Eventually, you realize that you see things that way because of your pride. You are too proud to be told what to do. You are also too proud to not compare your business with other newbies but people you know who have been very successful. It is your pride that will pull you down. Once you let go of it and be more understanding, you will see that things are not as bad as they seem.
You feel like giving up at times not because the circumstances are too bad, but because of how you view things. It helps if you take a pause and evaluate where you are now. Once you are calm, you can think clearly and you will find a better way moving forward.
