You Don’t Need to Force Yourself to be Productive at Home During This Period

Productivity While Quarantined

Some employees continue to work from home due to the social distancing guidelines. These people are lucky enough to still have work because many others were furloughed. They end up not getting paid because their companies aren’t profiting at this time either. Whether or not you’re working right now, you can still make the most of your time.

Sure, this period isn’t necessarily a holiday. Besides, you’re not allowed to go anywhere outside your house. You can only head out to buy groceries. It doesn’t mean you have to accomplish a lot either. Some people would tell you that you have to learn a language, read books, start a hobby, and do a lot of things. If you’re into them, you can go ahead and try them. However, if you don’t like doing those activities, you don’t have to force yourself. There’s no need to pretend that you’re learning a language just to tell everyone that you’re productive. You can still be productive without tangible results.

It’s time to get a rest

If you have to work from home, you can do it during regular office hours. You’re still paid for doing the job, and you have to be responsible enough. However, once the office hours are over, you need to take a rest. You don’t need to do other things to say that you have made the most out of your stay at home. You barely have time to sleep during regular work days. Now is your chance to make up for all those times. When things get back to normal, you will regret that you didn’t make the most of this opportunity. In your entire lifetime, you can’t remember when you were asked to stay home and rest.

You’re at home to avoid being sick

avoid being sick

The primary reason why you’re asked to stay home is for you to avoid being sick. Virus only gets transmitted when there’s a host. If everyone is at home, it would be difficult for the virus to move from one person to another. If you keep working hard at home and you don’t sleep well, you might get ill. It forfeits the entire purpose of social distancing. The goal is to flatten the curve and avoid overwhelming hospitals. If you get sick and you have to meet the doctor, you’re also a burden to the system. Stay healthy and relax at home.

Never compare your schedule with others

Some people have a full schedule even when they’re at home, and they couldn’t stop bragging about it. You can’t get envious of them. If they have that schedule, it might be due to their preference. They like working hard and they can manage their time well. If you don’t want to have a full schedule, it’s your choice. People have different ways to maximize their time, and you can’t feel pressured to do what others do.

You do what makes you happy since this is a rare opportunity. You might not have this chance ever again.
